I Am What You See

The Anderson, Richmond, VA (2024)

“I Am What You See” is my thesis project about personal exploration of my immigration story, focusing on themes of identity, belonging, and cultural rediscovery. I used archival family photos alongside alternative photographic processes like cyanotype, as well as a handmade quilt, to tell this story. The project contrasts the landscapes of my childhood home with where I am now, highlighting the lasting influence of my maternal family. Through this work, l invite viewers to reflect on the complexities of immigration and identity.
