Closer to you, 2020

"Closer to You" is a personal project focusing on the skin textures of people. There is beauty in the complexion of the skin texture heightened by the quality of light. As I progressed through this project, I was curious if my photographs would change their meaning if I were to switch to regular lights. If you look at the photographs with different colors, the skin texture gives off a different meaning as it is more noticeable and vivid. As for the photos with regular lights, the tone is entirely different from the others. They focus more on the part of the body that I am emphasizing, and the meaning is more intimate for the individual. My photographs show how aging can add more details to the skin; compared to the skin of a newborn; you wouldn't see as many imperfections in the skin. I'm expressing that there will always be beauty within you, no matter what you look like or how old you are. I have captured the beauty that others might not see in themselves, and I want them to feel closer to that beauty.
